I know I've been able to promote my podcasting tips via twitter as well as answer questions. Just don't lead with HI- LISTEN TO MY PODCAST. Build the relationship first, then gently point them toward your podcast.

Re: How to Use Twitter Search Like a Power User

This is a great way to find conversations and people to build relationships (which will then hopefully start to listen to your podcast).

Re: #NMCincy | Building your online community | Debba Haupert

Thank you for sharing all of this today, Debba! Don Sceifers (@drsceifers) usually takes care of this. I can check with him to see what he plans to do. I think he's looking at capturing video in some way, though. He and Vickie have posted video from past events at http://vspnetwork.tv

Re: Register for this Saturday’s event: Online Video for Fun and Profit!

Will this event be broadcast live?

Re: Help!

I looked at my user profile, but that box isn't checked. I checked it,
saved, tried again, went back and unchecked it. Same results.

I can see both the Visual and HTML tabs. I start off in the HTML tab, where
I can buttons for functionality to format, insert links, etc.; when I click
the Visual tab, I don't see any buttons, and the text is still in HTML
format.

I'll post some pics to this post as an update.

Re: Help! But it sounds like you feel the group was too readily dismissed, given our history with The Pub.

The World Cup really is a big deal to soccer fans, and The Pub is exactly the kind of place that goes nuts during the tournament. It's bigger than the "SuperBowl" of soccer because it only happens once every four years, and because it's an international competition.

Plus, on Saturday, the USA plays England at 2:30pm. It's hard to imagine any matchup is going to beat that one for attendance at Irish or English-themed pubs that are showing it. In 2002 at Ginger's Ale House in Chicago, there was a line out the door at 4am for live showings of the games in Korea and Japan.

There's really no way we'd want to be there trying to talk about New Media in the middle of that. If you find a better venue, that's great. But I'd hate to see a kneejerk reaction out of spite because of a two-month interruption every four years.

Re: Thanks to The Pub

Ah, thanks for the clarification!

Re: Thanks to The Pub

Heh heh, beers = casual. :P
